Ride #5 : “ Eagles Mountain”
From our meeting location we roll out of the valley along Hwy toward the foothills just minutes away…within moments we encounter a variety of cornering conditions from slow, long sweepers to quick, left, rights, with indeterminable sections in between. The country is open, becoming increasingly hilly , with more trees of greater variety , ranch country, farmsteads, cowboy country…horses, cattle, pick-ups, Skoal country. Then roll down into the canyon of the San Joaquin River, crossing broken bridge , we begin the canyon climb once again. While a little bumpy here and there, this road offers great views and technical riding to enhance your experience. Stopping at the exact center of California for a refuel and snacks we continue on up through several distinct botanical zones with awesome views looking back down into the river canyon. We stop for certain (and along the way when you wish) for a photo shoot looking far into the canyon , featuring stunning views of the high Sierras in the distance. Then, we saddle up and roll through pine forests and amazing scenery to a lonesome spot way back in those hills called, Jones Store, open only in the summer season as in winter there will be several feet of snow here on average. After a respite we roll down to a gorgeous lake for refuel and snacks and enjoy the route that circumvents the lake. Back down through even more wonderfully windy roads to our launch point once again. But we’re different now, than before we left.

Try it, you’ll see…

This ride offers up some breath taking sights and about a million corners !!!!!

Ride #4 : “ Thousand Corners “
From our meeting point we roll out of town almost immediately leaving civilization far behind. Skirting through the eastern fringe of the Big valley, through vineyards, orchards and rolling hills scattered with horses and cattle, then we’ll first stop for a refuel and snacks and get set for the next segment of this riding adventure. We will roll along an all-weather road that circumnavigates the northern perimeter of one of the many lakes located in the Sierra National Forest, offering distracting views of the lakes coves and tributaries amidst stunning natural beauty. We will stop here and there just to take it all in and for those photo’s you will wish to take. This area is absolutely exceptional in the Spring Season with abundant wildflowers and foliage in myriads of green, but the road is always fun to ride. We will roll along the Kings river at the furthest recesses of the canyon and return on a back country road with more stunning scenery as you run beside a stream flowing through floral meadows. Taking a nice twisty road we stop for gas and snacks and continue on, riding down this road cut out of the side of the cliffs help visualize wagons loaded with supplies headed for the mines and lumber camps further up the grade. We then head back to our starting point once again. Miles of smiles later, enhanced moto-operational skills, relaxed, refreshed, perhaps a little tired, but with lots of happy memories and a few dozen photos.
